We offer specalized, age-specific educational programs for children of all ages from infant to pre-Kindergarten.

Infant Program

At Angels’ Nest we do many of the same things with infants that they do at home with their parents.  Our caregivers use routines such as feeding, sleeping and diapering as opportunities to establish special relationships and trust with infants.  Smiles, hugs, guidance and encouragement all contribute greatly to infants’ growth and development.

A home-like center environment sets the stage for infants to develop trust and to feel comfortable and secure, surrounded by familiar objects and people who care about them and meet their needs.

Angels’ Nest has two infant nurseries.  Nursery I is for our youngest infants ages 6 weeks to approximately 6 months.  Nursery II is home to our older infants, ages 6 months to approximately 12 months.  Each nursery is licensed for 10 infants with 2 caregivers.  There is a monthly theme that incorporates the use of puppets, board books, tactile experiences and songs that are repeated throughout the month to encourage the development of language and gross motor skills.

Toddler Program

It is a common saying in early childhood education that play is children’s work.  There is much truth to this.  Through play, children learn about sharing, how to express themselves in acceptable ways, how to overcome fears, and how to improve their fine and gross motor skills.

Toddlers learning experiences are enriched by responding to their growing interests and challenging them to go one step further in their thinking. Each week there is an academic theme as well as a Biblical theme of the week.  These themes are introduced at an age appropriate level and involve hands on learning activities, open ended art experiences, music and much, much more.

We have three toddler classrooms at Angels’ Nest.  Each classroom scaffolds the curriculum to meet the growing developmental needs of the children in each class.

Toddler I is for children ages 12 to 18 months.  There are 10 children and 2 teachers.

Toddler II is for children ages 18 to 24 months.  There are 10 children and 2 teachers in this classroom as well.

Our Two-Year-Old class is for children ages 24 to 36 months.  This class has 14 children and 2 teachers.  In addition, to the academic and Biblical curriculums, this class focuses heavily on providing opportunities to develop self-help skills such as independent toileting, pouring juice, independent dressing, etc.

Preschool Programs

Preschool children are primed for learning.  Their curiosity makes them natural scientists.  Children are encouraged, through a variety of experiences, to put information together to arrive at a solution, to look for multiple solutions to a problem, to use blocks, dramatic play props, games, puzzles, books and art materials independently.

Each week brings a new academic theme, Biblical theme and letter of the week.  Concepts are brought to light with visual, auditory and kinesthetic opportunities to meet the needs of all learning styles in the classroom.

Throughout the day the children also pray, sing Christian songs, recite a Bible verse and participate in activities that reinforce the Bible story of the week.  The academic and Biblical themes are incorporated with each other as much as possible (i.e. Zoo Animals and Noah’s Ark) so that the children can see God’s wonder in all they learn.

Our Preschool program is divided into three classes. Preschool I is for children ages 2 ½ to 3 years.  These children have already mastered toileting but miss the age cut off at the beginning of the school year for the Preschool II class.  This is a small class with 7 children and 1 teacher.

Preschool II is for our 3- to 4-year-old children.  There are 20 children and 2 teachers is this class.  Shape and color recognition, alphabet knowledge, science and math concepts as well as name recognition are all a part of the daily curriculum.  Development of social and emotional skills, small motor and large motor development are also incorporated through various experiences throughout the day.

Our Pre-Kindergarten class is for 4-5 year olds who will attend Kindergarten the following school year. This class focuses on getting children ready for a successful career in public or private school.   Children continue to enhance their social/emotional development, fine and gross motor skills, and cognitive development.  The curriculum is scaffolded to meet the developmental needs and levels of all children in the classroom.  The Pre-Kindergarten classroom has 24 children and 2 teachers.
